Al Naboodah was the only company to fully satisfy the client’s specification during the deep compaction site trails carried out for the Palm Island project in Dubai, says a spokesman for the UK-based Pennine Group, which supplied the specialised vibropiling equipment.
A spokesman for Al Naboodah explained that this couldn’t have been achieved without the dedicated backing and service facilities supplied by the Pennine Group.
Working directly for the client, Nakheel, Al Naboodah has since successfully carried out ground improvements covering an area of 350,000 sq m in a 14-week intensive programme.
In addition to supplying equipment, Pennine also provided valuable technical expertise combined with on-site guidance and training the Naboodah.
This included establishing an equipment familiarisation, preventative maintenance and supervisory system for the scheduled works.
For work on The Palm, Al Naboodah made use of Pennine’s specialist vibropiling equipment that included BD300 vibroflots, BD400 vibroflots, HD222 power packs, Pennine/Landini jetting pumps and various miscellaneous items of plant.
“These vibroflots, the most powerful in Pennine’s range, have been specially designed and built for deep vibro compaction projects,” says the spokesman.
They have already been well-proven in the Far East undertaking deep sand compaction for ports, airports and other heavy civil engineering applications, says the spokesman.
