Techno Steel, a leading steel contractor, designer and fabricator, says it has completed ahead of schedule a uniquely-designed roofing feature for the Al Manara Tower, proving its proficiency as a steel specialist.

The structure of the roof feature was designed, fabricated and erected by the Dubai-based firm, using more than 450 tonnes of steel. Rising to a height of 50 m above the actual roof level, the roof feature has a floor area of 900 sq m and is designed to attract attention from all sides of the building.
“The design of the steel structure was extremely challenging since, apart from taking into account the conventional forces that play upon the structure, the design was also required to meet and take into account all the criteria of human comfort, as the massive structure rests right on top of the residential area and covers the three-level building utility machinery,” says Karam Khorram, managing director, Techno Steel.
“Techno Steel executed this complex and challenging job by carrying out precise shop drawings and accurate fabrication and following a successful erection sequence which resulted in a perfect installation,” he says.
“The successful completion of the roof structure, ahead of schedule, was a result of close cooperation of DAR Consulting Engineers, ANC (main contractor) and Techno Steel (subcontractor) for the project,” Khorram adds.
