Zamil Glass Industries has recently completed a major project in Riyadh and signed on for new projects in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries.
The Dammam-based company says it recently completed ABB - Administrative Office Building project at the Second Industrial City in Riyadh, worth over SR2 million ($533,000).
General manager Saleh Al Othaibi says the company used a new system in the project.
The Crystal System, which has been developed in-house, features frameless double glazed units (DGU) that support each other internally instead of using aluminium profiles which save internal space and give clearer vision from the inside, says Al Othaibi.
Sahara is the contractor for the ABB project which has been designed by Nabil Fanoos.
In Doha, Zamil says it is supplying the prestigious Gulf Tower project with 7,000 sq m of double glazed 6 mm glass for the inner pane and Sun Guard 20 mm for the outer pane of the tower.
Zamil is also involved in a major project in Kuwait. The company says it is supplying 4,000 sq m of different types of glass for the prestigious Union Consumer Center there.
The glass being supplied includes 6 mm Eclipse Reflective Gold glass for the outer pane, HRP18 (Heat Mirror) for the middle and 6 mm clear glass for the inner pane.
"Other requests included 6 mm Eclipse Reflective Gold glass and 6 mm clear glass double glazed unit, frameless with point fixing spider system," says Zamil.
The contract is worth SR2 million.
Meanwhile, Zamil has signed a contract with Al Bank Al Saudi Al Fransi to manufacture and install external and internal security glass for its five branches in Central region.
Security is the number one priority for banks and Zamil has set up a security division concentrating on high-risk financial institutions.
"The scope of work for Al Bank Al Saudi Al Fransi includes supplying and installing 25.52 mm bullet resistance glass for the counters and 12 mm frameless for internal partitions of the banks.
The contract is valued at approximately SR1 million," says Yasser Al Sattamy, security division manager.
