Bosco Aluminium of the UAE says its success is built on the four pillars of technology, quality, service and customer care.
A leading player in the UAE aluminium and glass industry, Bosco says it revels in taking on challenging projects and has played a key role in many landmark projects in the country.
The company says it has also teamed up with Bahrain-based Technal Middle East, a part of the Technal group of France, to provide the best possible systems and materials to its clients.
Technal is one of the leading companies in the world in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-performance aluminium glazing solutions. Technal has a wide range of aluminium framing systems to meet the aesthetic and functional requirements of architects, specifiers and building occupiers worldwide.
The Toulouse-based Technal has more than 30 years of experience in international markets and has units in Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America.
Technal, which is ISO 9001-certified, has in-house air, wind, water, acoustic and thermal testing facilities.
Its products come with the highest guarantees including EWAA, WURAS and Qualicoat labels for anodised and painted finishes, stainless steel screws, EPDM gaskets, says a spokesman for the company.
Technal systems are also tested by outside bodies such as CSTB and CEBTP, he adds.
"Technal products combine qualities such as comfort, durability, reliability and safety, and are easy to fabricate and to install.
"Indeed, keeping pace with technological developments, they incorporate new functions into their designs and cater to the creative requirements of today's architects and designers," he points out.
Recently, Bosco has installed a little over 1,200 m of structural aluminium parapet at the prestigious Jebel underpass at Al Ain in Abu Dhabi. "To ease and smoothen traffic, Al Ain municipality has embarked upon developing a number of underpasses in Al Ain. To ensure the safety of motorists, Al Ain Municipality decided to erect decorative structural aluminium parapet along the underpass," says the spokesman. "The specifications of the parapet matched the requirements of P II railings as per BS 6779 PART I, 1998. According to the specifications, the parapet was to be designed to withstand the impact of 1,500 cc saloon car travelling at a speed of 113 km/h and hitting the parapet at an angle of 20 degrees.
"New aluminium extruded profiles were developed in Alloy 6061. To meet the aesthetic requirements, Bosco engineers came up with a number of eye-catching designs. Al Ain municipality chose the most difficult and obviously the best one.
"Prototype posts of the parapet were developed and tested in the presence of engineers from the municipality and the consultants. In the very first test, the posts withstood the barbaric onslaught of applied static load much beyond the specified limits."
Bosco says its engineers completed the project in the agreed time.
The company says some of the other major projects it has worked on include the Dubai Bowling Centre, DHL Air Express building at Dubai Airport, Dubai Airport access pedestrian bridge, Sheraton Plaza pedestrian bridge at Shaikh Zayed Road and the British Council, all in Dubai; and the Abu Dhabi Bowling Centre and the ADCO office building in Abu Dhabi.
The company says its engineers are currently engaged in design and execution of a number of projects involving structural glazing, curtain-walling, aluminium/stainless steel cladding and dam pedestrian bridges."
