Hempel Paints Saudi Arabia has launched a new semi-gloss emulsion to complement its range of other high-quality products.

The company says its Semi Gloss Emulsion 58260 complements its range of products such as 58720 (matt), 58330 (satin) and 58650 (gloss).

Semi Gloss Emulsion 58260 is designed for interior and exterior surfaces such as walls, ceilings and partitions. It is suitable for use on masonry, plaster, concrete and wood surfaces, says Hempel.

The product is a hard wearing acrylic emulsion paint that provides stable gloss levels that reflects its semi gloss finish.

The paint is characterised by its superior washability, remarkable durability, and is available in thousands of colours through the Hempel tint system at retail outlets throughout the kingdom.

The product has been formulated to ensure a high level of hiding and also a higher percentage of whiteness in addition to its ease of application methods like brush, roller, conventional spray and airless spray.

The formulation 58260 is the result of extensive research and development in Hempel decorative labs and through Hempel clients and a number of independent contractors and Hempel retailers in the kingdom, says the company.

The new acrylic formula has been well accepted in the market and by villa owners who appreciate the choice of thousands of colours to decorate their homes both inside and outside, it says.

The launch of 58260 Acrylic Semi Gloss Emulsion was backed up with a promotional campaign.

The company says its retailers have reported a smooth performance of the new acrylic and customer contentment with the colours and hiding power of the paint. Painters have also expressed satisfaction at the ease of application.

From an application point of view, the surface where the paint should be used should be stable, firm, dry and free from dust, sand, loose old paint, laitance, dirt, grease and oil, says the company.

"It is recommended to apply a primer/sealer prior to the specified filling procedure. Touchup with primer/sealer on areas required with filler is recommended prior to application of 58260 top coat," says Hempel.
