BAHRAIN-BASED United Steel Trading and Marketing has successfully undertaken numerous projects worth millions of dinars in its domestic market.

Set up in 2006, the company deals in structural steel contracting; erection of high-rise buildings; supply and erection of butler pre-engineered building; roofing and wall cladding contracting; stainless steel and glass works; structural steel and stainless steel trading; and building construction materials.

United Steel is also an authorised builder of the Butler pre-engineered steel building (PEB) system and has carried out numerous supply and erection projects for the leading PEB manufacturer.

“The addition of Butler Steel Building in 2011 has increased our business line-up,” says general manager K K Mathur. “Apart from this, expanding our services and our three retail outlets in 2012 and this year, has also contributed to business growth.”

In addition, it represents Sharjah-based Arabian Profile Company, a Gibca Group company, in Bahrain.

“Amongst our recently executed roofing and sheeting projects is the new seam roof for Bahrain’s National Stadium,” says a United Steel spokesman.

The company’s retail shops are located in the Sanad and Salmabad areas of Bahrain where it stocks structural steel, stainless steel, building materials, tools and equipment.

“We are fully equipped to cater to building construction of any site requirements as a one-stop shop,” says the spokesman.

He says United Steel does not compromise in terms of quality, standards and specifications on all the contracts it undertakes and the material it supplies, which ensures the loyalty of its customers.

United Steel is involved in the design, supply and erection of a Butler PEB for the Kia Motors showroom for AA Bin Hindi. The company had earlier provided a Butler PEB for the RMA Pipeline Equipment factory project in Hidd. Its scope of work on the project included design, supply and erection of the PEB as well as supply and installation of two 32-tonne and two 10-tonne cranes. Work on the $2.2-million project started in November 2011 and was completed in July last year.

Some of the ongoing projects of the company include the extension of the first floor and roof structure at King Fahad Causeway for Dynamic Construction; and the link bridge at ABG Tower at Bahrain Bay for Arabtec, involving fabrication and erection of 160 tonnes of steel works with decking and intumescent fire-proof coating.

The company has recently completed the supply and installation of lift separator beams and substation trench covers at the ABG Tower.
