STANDARD Engraving & Decoration Establishment’s (SEDE) expertise in gypsum false ceiling works can be seen at the JW Marriott Marquis, where it has executed a total of 50,000 sq m of gypsum false ceilings in the public areas (ID) for the landmark project.

The Dubai-based firm started work on the project in January 2011 and completed it at the end of June this year.

Describing the project as a very challenging one, general manager Ramesh Shetty attributes teamwork as the reason behind the successful completion of the project.

Standard Engraving & Decoration, which is involved with decoration materials and partitions, specialises in gypsum false ceiling works. The company, which was established in 1981, employs around 175 people. Its office, workshops and warehouse are located in the Ras Al Khor area, Dubai.

Commenting on the current market situation in the region, Shetty says: “The construction market in the region is picking up and we hope it will improve in further.”
