INVESTORS have been invited to take part in the construction of a massive exhibition city in Bahrain by the kingdom’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Dr Hassan Fakhro.
The BD307 million ($815 million) Expo City (Expo@bahrain) will be built over an area of 150,000 sq m in Sakhir and feature luxury hotels and other multi-purpose facilities, according to the minister.
The centre, planned to be executed in two phases, will be the new home of the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIEC), which is expected to relocate to land near Bahrain International Circuit by 2011.
