Ajman Korea Furniture supplied and installed vanity, kitchen and pantry units at the Mazaya Centre.
The company started work on its Dh2.15 million ($586,000) contract in March last year, says CT Thomas, commercial manager of the Ajman-based firm.
Ajman Korea Furniture is one of the biggest joinery and furniture companies in the UAE. Its primary role is that of a subcontractor - to supply and install kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and bedroom fit-outs at building projects. Established in 1976, Ajman Korea Furniture is a Korean family business started and owned by CH Char, who is also the chairman of the company.
Around 90 per cent of its products - all custom-designed - are supplied to construction sites in the UAE. Ajman Korea Furniture's factory is well equipped with about 200 high-tech machines for woodworking which include a CNC machine, Schelling machine, membrane press, edge bending and painting machines, according to Thomas who adds that all its products and finishes are of international standards. American hardwood is used for manufacturing most of the products.
Ajman Korea Furniture, which has more than two decades of experience in the market, has an annual turnover of around Dh45 million. The company, says Thomas, has gained a reputation for the major projects handled by it including prestigious ones such as the Jebel Ali Hotel, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Oasis Beach Hotel, (all Dubai); Sharjah Inter-Continental (Sharjah) and Ajman Kempinski (Ajman).
