Having been involved with some of the leading projects in Saudi Arabia, Bina Precast, one of the leading players in the kingdom’s construction sector and part of Bina Holding, is looking to replicate its success in the fast-growing markets of Qatar and Bahrain as well.
The company, which was set up recently, has already made a mark for itself in the burgeoning construction sector of Saudi Arabia by associating itself with some of the major projects in Saudi Arabia, says Hisham Abdulaziz AlMousa, associate manager of Bina Precast.
From its factory located in the Second Industrial area of Dammam in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, Bina Precast is looking forward to becoming a market leader in its field by offering cost-effective and creative solutions. The company claims to be the biggest factory in the kingdom’s eastern region, in terms of productivity.
Commenting on the growing importance of precast in the construction industry of the region he says: “Statistics confirm that annual hollowcore production in 2007 stood at 3.5 million sq m. It is expected that the number will increase to more than 4 million sq m per year this year and we are hopeful of cornering a major share from that.”
The company’s major product lines include a wide range of hollowcore concrete and precast elements, says AlMousa.
Hollowcore slabs find application in a range of projects right from small villas to car parking areas and the company has a capacity to produce approximately 1,500 sq m of the product, each day.
Under precast products, Bina Precast manufactures a more than 100 units per day, which include wall elements (sandwich panels, cladding panels, solid wall panels and boundary walls), stairs, columns and beams and special products. Currently, Bina Precast offers an economic, durable and versatile way of constructing projects for industrial and commercial purposes. In addition, the company’s quality assurance policy ensures customer satisfaction by meeting all requirements in terms of design, production and erection of precast components, he says.
While the design department follows international standards and specifications, and provides technical know-how that meets the needs of the customers, the company’s production facilities translate such expertise into quality products that are manufactured using the best of technology, and equipment, he says.
“One of the reasons for our success in a short period of time has been our focus on quality,” says AlMousa. “At Bina Precast, we have established different checkpoints to ensure the best product quality. Every checkpoint is monitored by the quality control (QC) engineers, which are headed by QA/QC manager.
“Although the quality of the final product is based on several other factors such as the quality of the raw material, production techniques/methods, curing, repairing, transporting and erecting, our team of qualified engineers helps ensure that all these points are checked to satisfy the client needs.”
“This is the reason why our products have been meeting the quality requirements of reputable institutions such as Aramco, the Royal Commission and Sabic. The implementation of the ISO 9001:2000 quality standards at our facilities have shown the commitment of the company’s management to offer the best products without comprising on quality.”
Bina Precast is manned by a team of experienced staff, who can help clients right from preliminary plans to the completion of the project, according to AlMousa.
“Our products comply with international standards and customer specifications and we specialise in finding innovative ways to build projects, which can help in the smooth execution of our customer’s projects,” he says.
“Over the years, Bina Precast has developed the required expertise and personnel, which has allowed the group to provide the client with a range of services and solutions – right from the initial stages of hall projects to the final finishing stages. Such a capability has allowed us not just to add value to the projects of our clients but also offer them significant savings in terms of cost and time,” he concludes.
Bina Precast is part of Bina Holding, which has four companies under its fold. Bina Holding belongs to two of the largest companies in Saudi Arabia, which have more than 45 years experience in the construction field. The four companies that are part of the group are Bina Engineers Services; Bina Industrial Services; Bina Readymix and Bina Precast.
