MTData Middle East, a joint venture between Abdullatif Al Arfaj and Brothers Holding Company and Mobile Tracking and Data of Australia, is promoting the company’s range of tracking devices that can help contractors know the exact location of their concrete readymix fleet and ensure faster delivery on site.
The company has announced plans to start an awareness campaign for all readymix concrete companies, which will cover the three regions of Saudi Arabia and extend to other countries in the Middle East as well.
“One of the main sectors of our focus is the construction and readymix concrete business,” says Mohammed Jabiti, general manager, MTData Middle East. “In this particular sector, the developed hardware and software is capable of providing all vital information about the trip of each readymix truck with a very user friendly approach for key users such as shippers and dispatchers in the operation team. With the system, it now becomes possible for the operation team to track mixer trucks, pumps and service vehicles as not only dots in the map but can in fact access additional information on the actual status of the vehicle.
“Until recently, the idea of automatically knowing what the ready-mix truck is doing was a kind of dream,” says Jabiti. “But with the concrete functionality of MTData GPS Tracking Solution, users can now access in real time eight different status reports for a readymix truck, which include:
• Truck at plant and not loaded;
• Truck at plant loading;
• Truck at plant loaded;
• Truck left plant;
• Truck on the way to job;
• Truck on-site but not started discharging concrete;
• Truck finished discharging; and
• Truck returning to plant.
“Concrete functionality benefits all the key players in the construction business as it allows concrete companies to maximise the utilisation of the fleet.
The idea has come in for praise from the main players in the market and MTData Middle East has already implemented the first phase at Saudi Readymix Concrete Company (specifically the Eastern Region) and Al Kifah Concrete Company, on which the expansion project shall be expected to cover the whole fleet,” says Jabiti.
“Time is critical when it comes to the delivery process of ready-mix concrete because the properties of fresh concrete change quickly, causing it to become unusable within a few hours,” says Mohammed Abu Zaid, production and maintenance director, Saudi Readymix. “Integrating GPS technology into our operations gives us greater control over this issue by allowing us to utilise our fleet in the most efficient manner possible.”
Fadi Mujahed, marketing and business development director, Saudi Readymix, adds: “The system will enable us to track our vehicles in real time, adjust delivery intervals, record waiting, pouring and loading times automatically, plan routes to avoid traffic, and even plan special delivery requirements – be it huge pours, high-rise pumping, slip-forming – more effectively.”
The partnership between Abdullatif Al Arfaj and Brothers Holding Company and Mobile Tracking and Data of Australia is a combination of a proven and successful local company who focuses and specializes in delivering excellent customer support, says Jabiti.
MTData, which owns both the hardware and the software, is one of the largest suppliers of advanced GPS tracking and transport solutions in the Europe, Australia and Middles East.
“Our in-house developed software and hardware, along with the manufacturing lines in MTData Australia allow us to have full product control and strong ability to modify or update the product to meet the changing needs of our customers,” says Jabiti. “This has allowed the company to provide a quality international product, which is rich in features and is considered to be the proper tool to offer real benefits to customers at an affordable price.
With specialised and professional staff who specialise in the hardware and software design of mobile products suitable for in-vehicle environment and combined with the latest in GPS (satellite tracking) and GPRS (data communications) technology, MTData has developed an advanced GPS vehicle tracking solution.
The company has a wide range of in-vehicle hardware units available to meet customer’s requirements. All units are modular in design which allows customers to commence with vehicle tracking and expand their system and options over the years without having to re-commence their investment. “Our products are developed to withstand the harsh environment of the different industries which means a long life and compatibility with future products,” Jabiti says.
The company also offers a range of in-vehicle products that include engine management control (ECM) interfaces, g-force sensors, in-vehicle phone kits, driver logon, phone dialler kits, mobile data terminals, portable data terminals with barcode readers, signature capture capabilities and more, he concludes.
