

Emirates Glass (EGL), one of the leading processors of architectural flat glass in the Middle East and a subsidiary of Glass, has successfully supplied 8,000 sq m of its premium EmiCool high-performance glass products to the Etihad Airways Terminal at Abu Dhabi airport.
The contract was for the delivery of EmiTherm sealed insulated glass units comprising of 8 mm Emicool Plus NE270 grey outer pane and 17.52 mm clear laminated inner pane. “Apart from superb light and heat control, the combination offers excellent acoustic insulation which is an important aspect of modern airport design worldwide,” says Ziad Yazbeck, general manager, Emirates Glass.
Folcra Beach Industrial Company is the architectural aluminium curtainwall contractor for the project.
The Etihad Airways terminal project is part of the $6.8 billion Abu Dhabi airport expansion programme. This is the second time Emirates Glass has supplied the Abu Dhabi Airport with its premium glass products. The company had previously supplied its products to the airport’s temporary terminal in 2005, he adds.
