Dubai Industrial City (DIC), a member of Tatweer, has announced the completion of a major arterial highway that cuts through the industrial hub of Dubai, linking the Emirates Road with the Dubai Bypass road.

The Dh250 million ($68 million), 10 km-long road, which took 12 months to build, will offer quick access to vehicles transporting goods and services across DIC. It has two lanes on each side serving the commercial and industrial areas of the industrial hub.
In addition to improving the transport network, DIC has also completed the construction of two temporary sewage treatment plants (STP) that will service the industrial city in the next two years, says a DIC spokesman.
The first STP with 1,600 cu m capacity and the second with 600 cu m capacity will service the office buildings and labour cities at the industrial city and will largely help in promoting on-site sanitation and protecting the environment.
“The total cost of construction and operations for both STPs for the span of two years stands at Dh16 million,” says Rashed Al Ansari, CEO of DIC. “The two STPs, currently under inspection by the Environment Department at Dubai Municipality, are the first additions to a larger infrastructure project is being completed at a total cost of Dh770 million.”
Located in close proximity to the new Al Maktoum International Airport and Jebel Ali Port, with easy accessibility to major highways, DIC – spread over 560 million sq ft – is a dedicated industrial destination with six industrial clusters: food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment.
