The company’s new facility ... meeting the demand.

Emirates Thermostone, a wholly-owned subsidiary of M’sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments, has been awarded contracts worth Dh12.3 million ($3.34 million) to supply autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) construction materials to three premier developments in Dubai.

The new orders are the latest in a string of contracts for the company, following the launch of a second production line for the groundbreaking AAC technology earlier this year.
Emirates Thermostone will provide a combined 48,000 cu m of AAC blocks to The Lake Shore Tower 1 at the Jumeirah Lakes, as well as a cluster of 29 buildings at Dubai International City Phase 1, and the Marina Apartments on the Palm Jumeirah.
The Lake Shore Tower 1 will be a 44-floor development whose main contractor is Pivot Engineering, a leading contracting company from Abu Dhabi. The project will require 11,000 cu m of AAC blocks and work is expected to be completed in February 2008.
The Dubai International City towers, whose main contractor is Ghantoot Gulf Contracting, are scheduled for completion in March 2008 and will require 15,000 cu m of ACC blocks.
Working in tandem with main contractor Shimizu Corporation, Emirates Thermostone will provide 22,000 cu m of AAC blocks to The Palm Jumeirah Marina Apartments, which are set to be completed in April 2008. Emirates Thermostone has earlier secured the approval of Dar Al Handasah, one of the most prestigious consulting companies in the industry, to provide the project with AAC blocks, instead of sandwich blocks.
