Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded South Korea’s SK Engineering and Construction a KD180 million ($621 million) contract to build a gathering centre with a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) in the Sabriyah field near the Iraqi border.

Gathering Centre 24 is a unit that separates crude and is part of KOC’s plan to increase crude oil production capacity to four million bpd by 2020 from about 2.6 million bpd.
