AKBP has made a major contribution to the region’s construction industry.

Saudi Arabia-based Al Kifah Batching Plant (AKBP) is setting up a purpose-built production unit to manufacture concrete mixers, to meet increased domestic and international market demand.

The new facility is expected to be operational by the middle of this year.
AKBP specialises in fabricating concrete batching plant and accessories, including silos, radial conveyors and spare parts. Its factory – which is claimed to be the sole batching plant manufacturing facility in the Middle East – has been producing ISO-certified batching plants since 1993.
Apart from manufacturing concrete batching plant and components, the company also refurbishes, upgrades and repairs old plant and components.
“AKBP has made a major contribution to the region’s construction industry through launching the local fabrication of computerised batching plants, where cost efficiencies for the consumer has helped to make them popular in the construction industry,” says Abdul Rahman Al Katheer, general manager.
The factory has an annual production capacity of 25 complete concrete batching plant, carried out by both automatic and semi-automatic machines and equipment. Although the units vary in size and complexity, the average fabrication time required per plant is usually about a month.
AKBP’s competent team of electrical and mechanical engineers ensure excellent quality production and cost-effective installation while its highly qualified technicians offer quick after-sales service, thus helping the company to gain recognition not just within the GCC but across the Middle East in Jordan, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon.
Established in 1992 at Hasa Industrial City, AKBP’s is a local entity and has completed, delivered and commissioned a total of around 60 readymix and block plant, along with a number of components such as radial and stationary conveyors, cement silos, feed-hopper, and spare parts. The company has also opened a Dubai office to provide support and after-sales services in the UAE.
It backs up its operations by representing leading international companies such as Command Data Incorporated of the US (Eagle Computer batching systems); Rapid International Limited of the UK (high-speed rotary pan mixers and concrete reclaimer units); and WAM of Italy (cement screw conveyors, silo filter units, silo pressure relief valves, silo level indicators, silo aeration systems, butterfly and slide valves, and electric and pneumatic vibrators.
With more than 100 employees – including staff within its workshop and administration departments – AKBP is a well-established player in the market.
