The FB-VII series ... a class apart.

Leading construction and heavy equipment dealer AlJomaih Holding Company is looking at enhancing its market position and has recently granted greater autonomy to its heavy equipment division by transforming it into a full-fledged equipment specialist operating as AlJomaih Equipment Company.

“The move was made early this year and we are now focusing on marketing the various lines offered by our principals, some of which are the leaders in their respective fields,” says Abdullah S Al Ali, general manager of the Riyadh-based company.
Among the various brands the company represents is Japan’s TCM which offers a variety of versatile material handling systems.
The leading equipment manufacturer, which holds the distinction of producing Japan’s first forklift, has recently released eight new one to three-tonne FB-VII series models. In addition, four high-power models (1.5-3 tonne) are available, along with the hardworking TCM three-wheel 1.6 and 1.8 tonne models.
“The FB-VII series ... a class apart for its ability to offer continuous work schedules and help maximize profits. The user-oriented design for an electric forklift is the driving goal at TCM when they envisioned the production of the FB-VII series,” says Al Ali.
“The new innovative design of the forklift satisfies much of the demands for machines that work longer hours without causing much stress and fatigue to the operator.
Today, customers are looking for more compact truck bodies with more efficient and comfortable  manoeuvrability,” he adds.
TCM has taken note of the requirement of very frequent boarding and unboarding to inspect proper handling of cargos by operators. To ease the constant mental and physical stress built up in operators, TCM has launched the newly redesigned and upgraded FB-VII Series, he says.
“Responding to our customers’ needs for a smaller body and easy-to-operate vehicles, we innovated the new electric forklift to reduce stress caused by frequent turning within cramped worksites at warehouses and factories. In particular, as the widths of the new forklifts (1.5 tonne and less) are shorter than the pallets, they can move vehicles more freely within very narrow workspaces. This naturally contributes to better utilisation of total space at worksites for customers,” says a spokesman for TCM.
“Operations to handle finished goods are common in the warehouse, which is different from open-air operations. The new VII Series – having the lowest floor and step heights – is able to cut physical fatigue by 10 per cent due to much lower foot reach,” he says. “In addition, rationalisation of material-handling requires strenuous forklift usage. Even during daylong work, the quality of operation varies significantly from hard speed to fragile delicate use.
“To efficiently conduct these tasks, the VII Series electric forklift is equipped with three changeable modes – economy, power, super modes. One of the few demerits of electric forklifts is the operator’s concern for remaining battery power. While the previous electric forklift was capable of an eight-hour operation, the new VII Series forklift can be operated for an additional 30 minutes using a newly-adopted low – maintenance AC motor. Longer operation time with changeable operation modes enables stress-free driving,”  he points out.
Besides TCM, the company also represents Tacom of Japan, Iveco, Case New Holland Merlo and Nardi of Italy, Claas and MTU of Germany, Nokka-Tume of Finland, Perkins of the UK, and Arcusin of Spain. More recently, Aljomaih has also tied up with US-based Valmont Industries to distribute the Valley-brand of centre pivot irrigation systems in the kingdom.
The firm sells a wide range of generator sets and engines, wheel loaders, dozers and graders, concrete mixers, vibratory compactors and asphalt rollers, forklifts and telescopic handlers, marine container straddle carrier and telescopic spreaders, and a wide range of agricultural and irrigation equipment and systems to the Saudi market.
