Jotun Bahrain claims that it clinched the paint contract on the Citibank Headquarters Building on the merit of being the only paint manufacturer in the country able to match all the colours specified for the project.
These colours were matched using Jotun Multicolor tinting system, says Anto Sebastian, branch manager, Jotun-Bahrain.
All the internal areas (apart from the lift lobbies) have a coat of acrylic emulsion primer and two coats of stucco putty, followed by two coats of Fenomastic Matt, Fenomastic Silk or Fenomastic semi-gloss, while the external painted areas have a coat of acrylic emulsion primer followed by two coats of Fenotex.
Describing these paint systems, he says: "Fenomastic Matt, Silk and Semigloss are all high-quality acrylic copolymer-based emulsion paints with outstanding washability, hiding power and colour retention properties. They have good flow properties and are recommended for use on interior surfaces such as plaster, stucco filler, gypsum boards, concrete, asbestos cement sheeting and rendered blockwork.
"Fenomastic Matt gives a smooth, durable flat finish, Fenomastic Silk - as its names implies - gives a smooth, durable silk finish, while Fenomastic Semigloss gives a smooth, durable semigloss finish."
He continues: "Fenotex is a light textured decorative paint, based on a tough acrylic copolymer emulsion containing coarse rock-hard aggregates. It is recommended use on exterior and interior surfaces of concrete, plaster, bricks, masonry, wood and asbestos cement panels."
Jotun's Multicolor is a world-leading tinting system. Introduced in 1974, it is said to have been thoroughly tested in every detail in all markets where Jotun is present.
From an interior colour bar, more than 800 colours all from the NCS (natural colour system) can be selected.
In addition, the database has more than 16,000 different formulations of colours, from BS, RAL, Munsell, and other popular colour systems available in the market, Sebastian says.
A computerised Minolta colour reader makes it possible to digitally scan the colour desired from the sample piece and produce the same in either emulsion or enamel.
Jotun Bahrain marked a new milestone in its history when it inaugurated its new premises in mid-June. The new office and warehouse are located in the Mina Salman industrial estate.
With supplies and marketing support provided by the manufacturing unit in Dubai, Jotun Bahrain leads the market as the first choice in paints for commercial and decorative purposes, says Sebastian.
Currently, the 10 Jotun Multicolor tinting centres in Bahrain offer an extraordinary selection of more than 16,000 shades to cater to the needs of any discerning customer, Sebastian points out. These are located in Manama (two), Muharraq (two), Arad, Salmabad, East Riffa, Hamad Town, Gudaibiya and Zinj.
