Bahrain-based trading company Metras supplied a wide range of doors and panelling for the Citibank headquarters building.

"Metras was responsible for the supply of steel doors and frames and stainless steel doorsets from Al-Muhaidib Metal Industries and timber and fire doors and specialist veneer panelling for the lift lobbies and boardrooms from United Wood Products," says a spokesman for the company. "Both companies are part of the Riyadh-based Al-Muhaidib Group."

Metras, founded in 1969, says it has established itself throughout the Gulf as a committed and trustworthy trading company, acquiring quality products to meet the critical demands of today's construction industry.

"Our experienced staff work closely with architects and contractors, offering a comprehensive service from initial design consultation through to installation and commissioning," says the spokesman. "Over the years, we have been involved in many major construction schemes throughout the region, including airports, housing units, shops, restaurants, schools, hospitals, palaces and in particular, government and municipality projects.''

''Earlier this year, Metras supplied a large flagpole for a government project in Riffa, which was the second tallest flagpole in the world, when installed in February.''

While the focus of Metras' activity is mainly on the promotion of products from the UK, the company also holds agencies for a number of companies from Europe and the US, and continues to seek the representation of reputable manufacturers to complement and diversify its range, he adds.
