
The UAE President's Private Department will undertake the construction of several dams at a cost of Dh60 million ($16.34 million) to meet the water needs of nationals in the East Coast region, it was reported.
Work will begin as soon as construction of three dams at Safad, Al Thaib and Murbeh is completed later this year. These dams will be part of a network of 10 new dams. Two dams will be built in Wadi Ham, one in the Al Hail area and four in Wadi Romez. Two more dams are being built at Al Rakibi and Dalum in Dibba, according to Hassan Al Yemahi, head of the Survey and Lands Department at Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality.
