Prominent Italian furniture manufacturers and suppliers of furniture components will take part in this year's Index Cairo exhibition in Egypt next month.

The group of around a dozen Italian companies will join national pavilions from Belgium, Malaysia and Thailand at the event from June 5 to 8 at the Cairo International Conference Centre.

The Italian Pavilion will occupy an area of 800 sq m and will feature prominent companies such as Stival, Tabu and Futura Leathers, Gruppo Fantoni, Gruppo Frati, and Industrie Valentini.

The Italian Trade Centre in Cairo intends to join the pavilion and build a typical Italian house in the show to highlight the best of Italian furniture and interior design. They are also inviting a trade mission to the Index Cairo event and Egypt, which is an indication of the high level of interest amongst Italian firms to enter the Egyptian market.

The exhibition will feature more than 100 exhibitors from 19 countries, including Belgium, Italy, Malaysia and Thailand, alongside prominent manufacturers and suppliers from the GCC and Middle Eastern countries, as well as exhibitors from China, France, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Taiwan and the US.

Organisers dmg Index Exhibitions say they are extremely pleased with the participation from the GCC countries at Index Cairo 2001.
