KAVALANI and Sons has opened an industrial showroom based on the ‘store within a store’ concept that is set to take equipment and supplies sales to a whole new level in Bahrain.
Located in Salman Industrial City at the Bahrain Investment Wharf in Hidd, the $12-million facility is spread over a massive 130,000 sq ft. It houses the company’s head office, spacious new showroom, warehousing and logistics facilities. The showroom displays a wide variety of products that are procured from various regions across the globe, under one roof.
“We strongly believe in innovation and constantly look out for the latest, most advanced products and solutions for the market. And this new facility is yet another expression of our passion to not only serve our customers, but serve them innovatively,” said Mukesh Tolaram Gandhi, the company’s managing director.
He said the set-up comprises individual retail spaces catering to various categories of products. The showroom has been segregated into different units where materials are displayed according to purpose and brand. They are also categorised brand-wise, making it easier for customers to identify products and their needs.
Another distinctive aspect of the spacious new facility is that customers will be able to examine, test and select these products first-hand. “Our dedicated customer support sales staff is well trained to advise clients on the selection of materials and equipment required for a particular job thereby providing a solution to their needs,” said Prashant Raj Gandhi, the sales director.
Materials like power and hand tools, safety and personal protection items, cordless hand drills, abrasives and more can be seen, felt and handled, he added.
Prashant said the idea for the facility came from customer feedback. “Many industrial customers shop where they can feel comfortable because at the back of their mind, these are quite messy places. With this new facility, a customer gets ample time to decide about a product. Plus our sales teams are at hand to help them out with any enquiries.”
Devkishan Gandhi, senior director, added: “Because of the increased workspace in the new facility, we will be able to conduct enhanced training programmes for our sales team to make them more knowledgeable about the products.”
The corporate head office of the Kavalani and Sons Company will also be housed and all regional operations monitored from here.
Kavalani’s stable of products includes well-known names like Tyrolit, 3M, DeWalt, Ridgid, Elora, and Bata Industrials, just some of the many world-class brands that the company has introduced to the Bahrain market over the years. Overall, the company provides industrial, construction and marine supplies with a portfolio of more than 30,000 products of leading brands from across the globe.
“We launch on an average four to five product lines a year,” said Prashant, who is confident about Bahrain’s business environment, especially in the construction sector.
Prashant said the government is providing every opportunity for business to flourish, adding that Bahrain Investment Wharf can be compared to any major economic zone in the region.
Kavalani’s major clients in Bahrain include Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (Asry), Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), Gulf Petrochemical Industries (GPIC), the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), ministries, and other major construction companies. Furthermore, it has been part of most major projects in the country including Bahrain Bay, where it has supplied HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems, building materials and tools; the under-construction Four Seasons hotel; bridge projects by Six Construct; the Mina Salman Interchange, and Bahrain International Circuit. It is also supplying to the upcoming $1.6-billion Dilmunia Island project off the coast of Muharraq.
