THE construction of the International Medical City (IMC) in Salalah, Oman, is one step closer with the completion of the detailed design of its infrastructure masterplan.
Apex Medical Group (AMG), its developer, said the detailed design of IMC’s infrastructure masterplan has been completed by Psomas Engineering, a leading US-based consulting engineering firm.
AMG president Dr Abdullah Al Joaib said:
“Site layout and land uses have been carefully placed to provide synergy and promote interaction between related activities. IMC’s masterplan design was carried out with a careful look into sustainability of the project and with adherence to environmental regulations,” he added.
Ross Baker, vice-president of Psomas, said: “Psomas provided strategic planning and infrastructure design to refine the International Medical City concept plans into a comprehensive technical masterplan that will integrate the building programme with infrastructure, site drainage and environmental constraints.”
The IMC will feature the region’s first multi-speciality transplant centre, in addition to a high-tech diagnostic centre, a healthcare resort, a luxury hotel and medical and nursing colleges.
