MAF to manage Arcapita building, says Musallam (below).

THE UAE-based MAF Dalkia has been awarded a five-year facilities management contract to manage the 16,000-sq-m Arcapita Building located in Bahrain Bay.

The long-term contract comes after MAF Dalkia provided significant bespoke facilities management consultation to Arcapita Bank at the initial design and construction planning stages of the building project.

The Arcapita’s bold new corporate headquarters boasts intricate and elaborate structural design and an imposing horizontal glass structure, and has become a centerpiece of the Bahrain Bay development.

Commenting on the deal, MAF Dalkia CEO Alexandre Mussallam says: “This is a landmark agreement for a landmark building in Bahrain, which further consolidates our market position in this key country. The contract with Arcapita provides an opportunity to showcase the wide breadth of our facilities management offering.”

MAF Dalkia will provide multi-technical services for air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, building management system, lifts, and generators and manage soft services such as cleaning and landscaping.

“This honour comes after an impressive year for MAF Dalkia, having won major facility management contracts in various sectors, including educational, commercial, aviation and many more,” says Mussallam.

“This award gives an assurance that we are on the right track, developing the technical capabilities of our teams and also showcasing our rich diversity and expertise as a company, which we’re taking to other markets in the Middle East,” he adds.

In addition to the award, one of its employees, Javed Rizvi received the Commander’s Award in the Young Facilities Manager category. “MAF Dalkia’s combined European experience of Dalkia and Majid Al Futtaim’s reputation and professionalism successfully sets the company apart from its competitors. Moreover, such a unique long-term partnership since 2002 provides MAF Dalkia with the ability to deliver in some of the most demanding environments,” says a company official.
