GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and environmental consulting companies, was honoured at The Arabian Property Awards 2010 for its role in the construction of Doha’s iconic Al Bidda Tower.

The tower, a stunning 45-storey twisting skyscraper on the Qatari capital’s corniche, was conferred a five-star award in ‘The Architecture Award (Office) Qatar’ category at the event held in association with Bloomberg Television.

Al Bidda Tower’s striking design has captured the attention of international visitors and locals alike since its unveiling earlier this year. The floor plan rotates at each level as the tower rises, which combined with a diamond-shaped glass façade gives the impression of movement and life.

Additionally, the innovative design meant the leasable floor space increased in size as it rose towards the top of this 90,000-sq-m commercial building.
