Dubai Metro … another success for Jotun.

JOTUN Paints has supplied more than 3 million litres of paint for the first phase of Dubai Metro’s Red Line, which has started operations.

The company will also deliver its paints and coatings for the remaining phases within the Red Line and the entire Green Line, which are expected to be opened to public by June and December next year.
The paints used for the first mass rapid transport system in the region are part of the manufacturer’s pioneering ‘single source solution’ concept. They include floor coating Jotafloor, steel protection Penguard and Hardtop, fire protection Steelmaster, interior emulsion Fenomastic and exterior protection Jotashield Tex Ultra. Approximately 1.7 million litres of protective coatings and 1.4 million litres of decorative paints were used.
“The involvement of Jotun Paints in this landmark project is another feather in our cap, as we have once again been a part of a pioneering project that further elevates Dubai’s status as one of the most progressive global economies,” said Eirik Kristensen, regional marketing manager – Mena (Middle East and North Africa), Jotun Paints.
Jotun Paints met requirements of high-profile projects through its new technologies, customised solutions and extensive technical expertise and support, he said.
Its single source solution concept has been used in prestigious projects in the region for reasons such as high quality, cost-effectiveness decorative and protective features, says the company, adding it can withstand extreme levels of ultraviolet (UV) light, various levels of humidity and corrosion, high and low ambient temperatures and other environmental pollution to preserve their strength and appearance over the span of their service life cycle.
