

ALDAR Properties has announced the completion of the external structure of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi – the world’s largest indoor theme park.
It will also be the first Ferrari theme park in the world when it opens its doors next year.
The park is located on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, which also hosts the Yas Marina Formula One Circuit.
The park’s iconic sleek red roof, inspired by the classic double-curve body shell of the Ferrari GT car, covers a surface area of 200,000 sq m and features the largest Scuderia Ferrari ‘prancing horse’ emblem in the world, measuring 66 m in diameter.
More than 35,000 tonnes cu m of concrete, 12,370 tonnes of steel, 29,000 sq m of facade glazing and 165,000 sq m of roof cladding were used to create the park’s superstructure which was completed in 14 months. Over 4,500 workers have been involved in this project on a daily basis.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be an intense multi-sensory experience and a must-visit venue for enthusiasts, fans and families, with the park hosting over 20 state-of-the-art attractions, according to a statement.
Aldar-Besix, a joint venture company owned by Aldar, Abu Dhabi's leading property development, management and investment company, and Besix, the largest Belgian construction group, is responsible for the management of the project the while UK-based Benoy is the architect and lead consultant.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be operated by Farah Leisure Park Management, a joint venture between Aldar and ProFun Management Group.
