ABU Dhabi has marked a major milestone in its infrastructure development with the launch of the newly-built 10-lane Sheikh Khalifa Bridge on Saadiyat Island, along with a 27-km expressway.
The bridge, which will serve as the new gateway into Abu Dhabi, is part of major infrastructure works on Saadiyat Island, which is being developed by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC).
The 1.4-km-long bridge connects Saadiyat Island to Abu Dhabi for the first time and is named after Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties built the major part of the expressway, which continues to its Yas Island development.
Meanwhile, TDIC has launched a comprehensive progress delivery report, providing an overview of 13 of its key projects. Along with its joint venture partners, TDIC has successfully delivered more than 1,200 new hotel rooms to Abu Dhabi this year.
TDIC has also launched a new corporate brand identity aimed at reflecting the company’s core values and ambitions for Abu Dhabi.
