DUBAI Pearl has marked a key construction milestone with the installation of three of the Middle East’s largest rafts on Towers 1, 2 and 3 of the iconic project. Developer Pearl Dubai achieved this with the completion of the concrete raft pouring at the Tower 2 (North Tower).
Contractor Al Habtoor Leighton utilised a 300-plus workforce in each work shift over two days to deliver the 11,000 cu m raft. Ten pumps and 1,200 truckloads of concrete reinforcements were poured into the 8.07m deep excavation.
Around 44,000 cu m of concrete will be poured into the foundation of the four-tower project, in addition to utilising over 10,000 tonnes of steel reinforcements.
The development will also feature a 1,800-seat performing arts theatre.
