Groundbreaking on the Louvre Abu Dhabi will take place this month, while the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum and the Zayed National Museum will break ground in the third quarter of this year, according to Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer.

The three museums are located on TDIC’s flagship Saadiyat Island, named one of the world’s ‘Top 10 Emerging Trendy Destinations’ by The Wall Street Journal last year.
Meanwhile, the opening of the Gary Player-designed championship Saadiyat Beach Golf Course and the completion of Saadiyat Bridge will take place at the end of this year.
In addition to Saadiyat Island, TDIC is developing a number of wholly-owned projects in Abu Dhabi City including the Angsana Resort and Spa Eastern Mangroves, which is on schedule to be operational by the first quarter of 2011. The resort, sensitively designed to reflect its natural mangrove setting, is an integrated resort, marina, retail and residential destination.
TDIC is also refurbishing its Abu Dhabi Golf Resort, which is due for completion by the fourth quarter of next year.
