Almost all construction work on the Rashidiya Depot of the Dubai Metro project has been completed. The project includes the depot, Rashidiya station, a multi-storey car-park, and a rail operation control centre.

Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), made the announcement while inspecting the progress of work on the metro.
The station extends 130 m in length and 30 m in width and has the capacity to handle 11,000 passengers per hour in each direction. The station has two gateways fitted with escalators and lifts to ease the entry and exit of passengers.
The car-park has space for 2,700 vehicles. The ground level is designated for public buses providing feeder service to the station. It is, therefore, designed to accommodate a large number of buses at a time.
The main depot at Rashidiya comprises a parking area with a capacity to house 64 trains and includes the control centre, which enables full control of the metro service on both the Red and Green lines.
