CHANGSHA Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Development Company, a pioneer manufacturer of construction machinery in China, has unveiled its new crawler excavator — the ZE80.

Designed with a commitment to “high-performance, energy saving, environmental protection and comfort”, the excavator offers high digging force and better performance although it is smaller than its counterparts on the market.
Its dimensions and digging parameters have been optimised to facilitate transportation and give it a superior digging performance, according to the company.
“The ZE80 is unique in its appearance, featuring a streamlined body and a compact design compared to other machines in its class. The turning radius on its tail is small, which allows it to operate in narrow and congested work areas and in diverse applications. All in all, its design and features ensures higher overall performance,” says a spokesman for the company.
The ZE80 uses an advanced hydraulic pump, rotary motor and pilot operation control valve from Germany’s Rexroth, ensuring high quality and stability. The system is also equipped with a load sensor, which can effectively use the engine’s power and increase the performance of the entire machine. The excavator uses an electric and automatic control throttle, which controls the fuel supply to the engine with stepless speed regulation, he explains.
An advanced electronic LCD monitor not only displays the working condition of the entire mach-ine, in terms of water and oil temperatures, pressure, etc at any time, but also offers a fault diagnostic function.
“A pressure sensor installed on the main valve can accurately evaluate operating conditions of the system, achieve automatic idling functions, reduce fuel consumption, and make optimum use of the engine power,” the spokesman says.
The cooling system uses a three-in-one cooling layout with a compact structure. The water and oil in the system is spread over a large area, enabling rapid cooling and thus keeping the water and oil temperatures within a specified range.
Zoomlion also has another model in the same category – the ZE60.
Apart from excavators, Zoomlion has about 13 categories of products in more than 450 models, including cranes and concrete, road, earthwork, sanitation and port machinery.

Rotary drilling rigs
Among its diverse range, Zoomlion also offers two models of rotary drilling rigs — the economical, efficient, reliable and intelligent ZA220A; and the new multifunctional ZRD200A.
The Zoomlion ZR220A is fitted with an imported turbo-charging, inter-cooling and electrically-controlled Cummins engine QSL9.
“Its advanced electrically-controlling system helps the engine exert its full power while keeping minimum fuel consumption at different speed shifts.
“Together with the control system, it makes the engine run more economically, efficiently and reliably, saving fuel by 10 per cent compared with engines of the same power under the same working conditions,” says the company’s spokesman.
The Zoomlion ZRD200A is a professional multi-functional drilling rig based on the rotary drilling rig design concept.
It can easily implement functions carried out by a CFA (continuous flight auger), screw piling, impact hammer and vibration hammer by using corresponding drilling tools and relevant components and design adjustment.
