Vision Tower ... an Alumco project.

Alumco, a specialised aluminium façade contractor, has won a Dh81 million ($22.05 million) contract to supply its high quality aluminium façades to the prestigious Vision Tower in Dubai.

An iconic landmark of Dubai Properties, Vision Tower is located at the main entrance of Business Bay.
“This is one more prestigious project that adds to our company’s status as a leading provider of premium quality products and world-class services,” says Samer Barakat, managing director, Alumco. “Our consistent quest for excellence has enabled us to build such a solid portfolio of prestigious projects.”
Alumco’s engineers and designers have already started on the project design and installation will commence soon for completion by end of the year.
The projects architects are the US-based TVS and UAE-based Dewan El Emara.
Alumco’s engineering team working closely with the international façade consultants Meinhardt have customised a special unitised system to be used for the tower. The unique façade system has been designed to withstand high wind loads reaching up to 6 KPA (kilo Pascals) on some spots of the building by its speciall- designed double glass units –  each proposed unit consist of 8 mm outer pane, 12 mm airspace and 8 mm inner pane.
The design also gives the maximum allowed area for the vision panels with the unique type of glass allowing high light transmission, says a spokesman for Alumco.
The 264-m tall Vision Tower will house modern business centres and offices, affording tenants easy accessibility as well as great visibility.
Alumco’s rich portfolio includes major projects in various locations around Dubai including 15 towers at Burj Dubai Residence, the Dubai Police Headquarters, Al Murooj Complex on Sheikh Zayed Road, Shatha Tower in Dubai Media City and four towers at the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) Sector 6 complex.
The company has also expanded its production capacity considerably, as part of its strategy to establish itself as one of the leading players in the manufacturing and installation of cladding and curtain-walls on high-rise towers.
Furthermore, Alumco has recently launched its new Dh55 million glass processing factory located at Dubai Investments Park, built on a total area of 10,000 sq m, and furnished with state-of-the-art equipment.
With this opening Alumco now has a daily total production capacity of 2,000 sq m insulated glass and 1,000 sq m of frameless glass.
