Bahrain-based Taalk Design – a leading interior design, planning and consulting firm – has been focusing on providing consultancy services over the past year, having already gained a strong foothold in the interior design market with a number of projects in the local and other GCC markets.
“Our interior design business has been doing well since our inception and we have grown to become one of the very few firms that offer professional consultancy and designing works specifically for interior works. In fact, we already have a healthy order book that call upon the various services we offer such as consultancy, design and supervision,” says Tariq Al Abbasi, operations and public relations manager.
“In addition to interior designing, we also offer our services for the preparation and evaluation of tender documents for government and private projects as well as graphic designing such as logo and packaging design for varied client needs,” he adds.
Taalk Design covers a spectrum of interior design activities including environmentally-sensible designing for residential and commercial premises and has been involved with the hospitality, residential, commercial, corporate, retail and exhibition sectors in several countries. One of the more unusual projects in its portfolio has been “A New House” show for Bahrain Television where the company has provided free designing services from the conceptualisation stage to construction supervision. This project is aimed at helping renovate houses and providing a better standard of living for the low-income families in Bahrain.
Some of the firm’s on-going projects in Bahrain include providing:
• Interior and furniture consultancy services for the Royal University for Women;
• Interior design and consultancy services for a proposed five-storey Public Security Complex at Muharraq; a municipal one-stop shop for the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs at Tubli; and five-star luxury apartments at Seef Residence in association with Tema International; and
• Interior design services for the General Directorate of Traffic at Isa Town, Universal Trading’s main office and Awal Plastics showroom at Salmabad.
Established in 2000 and staffed with five employees, Taalk Design currently has a branch office in Doha in Qatar as well as associate offices in Singapore and Jordan and has gained international exposure through its architects and designers in various countries.
The firm provides consultation, interior architecture and project management as well as furniture design services. Experienced professionals from the company’s interior architecture division provide design and documentation of interior architecture requirements that cover corporate identity, needs analysis, space planning and interior development services. In the project management business sector, the firm specialises in effective and accurate project control through budget estimates, cost planning and project administration.
Commenting on plans for the new year, Al Abbasi says that Taalk Design will strengthen its focus on consultancy work both for the public and private sectors.
