With the region experiencing a construction boom and the markets becoming individually strong, Technal Middle East, a leader in architectural aluminium systems, has adopted a new strategy of localisation.
Under this programme, the Bahrain-based company will strengthen its representative offices in each regional country and gradually develop them into individual business units which shall support further the growth plans of the company in every market.
“Being closer to the clients enables the company to serve their needs better and promptly,” says Henry Baz, general manager, Technal Middle East.
Technical and sales engineers will be stationed in each market so they can respond to the clients needs effectively and better. The main distribution centre, claimed to be the largest in the industry in the region, will remain in Bahrain and is able to supply wide range of propriety products off the shelves to all the GCC markets within short lead-times.
Baz says the new strategy is already yielding results. The overall sales turnover of the company grew around 35 per cent compared to last year.
Technal has been actively present in the Gulf since 1980 servicing all GCC markets from its Bahrain headquarters. In 2000, this business unit has diversified into a fully-integrated company, Technal Middle East, a service provider that has expanded its products range and operation to suit the needs of the market. It will continue to invest in the market to provide the region with the superior products it demands.
The company has been involved with many unique projects in the region recently including the Bahrain International Circuit, Jumairah Beach Residence Towers and The Palm Villas in Dubai. It was also involved in the aluminium and glazing works contract for two prestigious landmark commercial and residential projects in Abu Dhabi.
With the completion of the two projects in Abu Dhabi, Technal Middle East decided not pursue such contracting works activity but will rather focus its resources on the core company business, that is, the design and distribution of its architectural aluminium systems.
“The rich experience gained in undertaking contracts from the design board till handing over, will however be invested in supporting better our clients through sharing our experience and knowledge in their own field,” says Baz.
The company has been able to capitalise on the construction boom in the region and has achieved a remarkable 35 per cent growth in sales revenues.
“We hope to maintain and consolidate the good growth as the market expansion is forecast to continue for another seven to 10 years,” says Hesham Kameshki, marketing and sales manager. “The company’s new strategy will enhance our services and bring us closer to the market which is growing and becoming more sophisticated.”
Technal offers a product range that serves all market segments and the brand is highly regarded all over the world, says Kameshki.
The range includes windows, doors, facades, skylights, guardrails and internal partitions.
“The company can supply and service projects of any size. We can also design customised solutions for specific projects,” he says.
The recently-completed Abu Dhabi projects benefited from such customised solutions. One of the highlights of the projects was the concealed hinged balcony doors, seamlessly integrated into the glazed facade and the complementary balcony guardrail, says Kameshki.
The company will be introducing to the Middle East market its highly-acclaimed extra large dimensions GT Plus lift and slide door system, new hi-tech steel-look guardrails BY series and high-technology thermal break concealed casement windows Unicity series. The GT Plus is the ideal choice for extra large sliding patio-doors, says Kameshki.
He says the company is also focusing on the housing and residential sectors as well as schools, hospitals, health centres, showrooms and franchised outlets.
“With the increasing population in the Gulf, these sectors are set to grow considerably and Technal is well equipped to meet the demand,” he says.
Technal products, which boast original French designs, are known for durability, reliability, thermal efficiency and air and water tightness, said Kameshki.
The company has a wide network of fabricators across the region. Apart from a high-level of technical support, the fabricators are also provided with special tools such as specialised software for estimation, costing, manufacturing; fabrication tools; specialised marketing documentation and user-friendly guides.
