Koller, an Austrian specialist in whirlpool hydro-massage systems, reports double-digit growth in business volumes in the Gulf, following the increased demand for its top-of-the-line products from bath manufacturers, hospitality establishments and discerning clients in the region.
To cater to this surge in demand, the company last year opened its regional office in the UAE. This move, in turn, has enabled it to expand its reach throughout the region and beyond, says a spokesman for the company.
Part of the Koller Group which has over 25 companies spread across the globe, Koller has so far been spearheading its sales and marketing efforts from the US and Malta.
“We attribute our rapid growth in the region to the high quality of our products. Just last year, we opened our office in the Ras Al Khaimah free zone in a bid to extend enhanced quality services to our growing client base in the GCC, specially in the UAE,” says Stephen Aquilina, director of Koller UAE.
“We started operations in the region in May last year and already business growth is in double digits. In fact, we are now servicing customers as far as Thailand and the Philippines from our office at the emirates,” he adds.
“Our base in Malta has served us as a springboard for quite sometime now and offered the advantage of having a highly-skilled multi-lingual staff, which has helped in establishing business roots in the Arabian Gulf. We now have a strong foothold in the UAE and we are looking forward to secure a larger share of the market.”
With a global staff strength of more than 1,200 workers, the company’s core business is the manufacture and supply of hydromassage/whirlpool components.
A regular participant at Dubai’s Big 5 show, Koller has received a lot of attention from trade visitors from across the region and beyond. “The regional market is expanding very rapidly and offers immense potential. In fact, business opportunities are better than we had anticipated and we are trying to keep pace with the fast-changing market requirements.” he points out.
In a bid to offer a comprehensive range of services in the wellness sector, the company has recently taken over the Dutch company Relaxan, which specialises in aroma therapeutic products such as bath salts, bath and sauna perfumes and infra-red cabin oils. This acquisition has allowed Koller to offer a complete package of whirlpool systems and aromatherapy products.
Koller serves bath manufacturers in a number of Middle East and North Africa countries including Bahrain, Tunisia and Egypt, and is looking forward to strengthen operations at the UAE office to tap the ample opportunities the region presents.
