OCI bags $355m Qatar contract

A unit of Egypt’s Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) has won a $355 million contract to build a science and technology centre in Doha, Qatar, OCI said.

A fully consolidated OCI subsidiary, Contrack International, won the deal to construct the facility in Doha’s Education City, an OCI spokesman added.
“Orascom Construction Industries is honoured to receive its fifth contract for a project in Education City,” OCI chief executive Nassef Sawiris said in a statement.
The firm said a Qatari science and development institution established by Amir Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was funding the project.
