Boon officials receive the official decree.

Boon Edam Group Holding, the Netherlands-based manufacturer of high security doors, perimeter control doors and security barriers, has been granted the right to use the name Royal Boon Edam. Mayor Van Beek of the municipality of Edam-Volendam, where the company’s main offices are located, handed over the official decree recently to Erik Huber, the owner of Boon Edam.

Says Myra Mazereeuw marketing executive for the company: “Queen Beatrix granted Boon Edam this honour in recognition of two exceptional events in the company’s recent history. Last year marked the company’s 130th anniversary and the 100th year of revolving door production. This award crowns an anniversary year that was celebrated in appropriate style.”
The company has recently introduced a new perimeter security product, which it claims is applicable in a number of areas like corporate car parks, leisure parks, schoolyards or stadiums. The Turnlock, which is completely new to the Boon product range, is applicable both for indoor and outdoor use.
By doubling its range of access control products, Boon Edam has a solution to the growing demand for security products. Boon Edam offers a comprehensive range of security barriers. From neutral to exclusive customised design, says Mazereeuw.
All products authorise only one person at a time to enter. Each situation requires its own specific solution but with the extended range of security products, Boon Edam has a product for every application.
The new Boon Edam access control products are most suitable in the reception areas of fitness clubs, libraries, museums, shopping centres and many other public buildings. With their standard stainless steel finishing, they fit into most architectural settings Mazereeuw says.
Boon Edam is a Dutch family business that started out as a carpentry shop in Amsterdam in 1873 and later moved over to Edam in 1970. Almost 100 years after producing the first wooden Tourniket revolving door, the company is the acknowledged world market leader for revolving doors.
Boon Edam employs more than 600 people worldwide and has an extensive network of subsidiaries and distributors at its disposition. The company has production sites in the Netherlands (Edam), China and the US.
Boon Edam has supplied its high-security systems to several prestigious including the Bahrain Racing Circuit at Sakhir; the commercial towers for the Samic project in Dammam, Saudi Arabia; the Saradar Bank Ashrafieh Tabaris at Beirut, Lebanon; and the Le Meridien Dubai, UAE.
