British copper tube manufacturer Yorkshire Copper Tube (YCT) is revising two of its most popular tube ranges to reflect the products' actual use or application by installers.
The company is changing both its Yorkex and Kuterlon tubes over 28 mm to hard temper replacing the existing half-hard temper offer, according to an official.
Robert Smith, director, export sales says: ''Contractors and stockists can be satisfied that we are working hard not only to meet their expectations but to exceed them. In terms of application, it has become increasingly evident that larger sizes of these products are used in straight lengths rather than for cold bending or forming.
''We are, therefore, changing the specification and increasing our focus on the product characteristics that have made the brands so popular including their reputation for consistent quality.''
In addition, this change will enhance the products in other areas such as the finish. brightness of surfaces and pressure ratings.
The products are manufactured at one of the most modern factories in the world and are widely chosen by installers, plumbers and specifiers for a variety of purposes.
Yorkex is described as the ideal product for hot and cold water, sanitation, central heating and gas services installations as it is guaranteed to withstand high internal pressure.m Its sister copper tube Kuterlon has a significantly greater wall thickness offering a higher pressure rated option. The extra thickness allows it to be used for underground purposes, pressurised steam installations as well as general above-ground applications.
YCT offers an extensive range of versatile copper tubes and guarantees products for a full 25 years against manufacturing defects.
Advanced manufacturing methods and sophisticated quality control techniques ensure that only consistently high standard tubes reach the installer. All Yorkshire copper tubes supplied for the UK and British Standard export markets carry the BSI Kitemark. Products are inspected and tested in full accordance with the appropriate standards defined by BS EN 1057 and manufactured under a quality system approved to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.
