Channels Exhibitions, a leading UAE-based exhibition organiser, has announced the addition of the Dubai Ideal Home 2000 exhibition to its annual portfolio of exhibitions held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Dubai Ideal Home 2000 is an international exhibition featuring home electronics, furniture, white goods and accessories and will be held from May 10 to 14, 2000.

The organiser expects the show to attract a large number of specialised companies aiming to reach trade and personal buyers from the UAE, other GCC states and neighbouring countries throughout the Middle East.

"Channels' decision to launch this exhibition is a result of extensive market research, which shows a healthy recovery in GCC economies after an increase in world oil prices and the start of a number of projects in the construction and housing industry," says Justin Boutros, managing director of Channels. "The exceptional growth in the population of the GCC countries makes these markets some of the fastest growing internationally."

Dubai Ideal Home 2000 will offer an opportunity to trade visitors and private buyers to view a comprehensive range of products for all their housing projects requirements. Exhibits at the show include all kind of domestic and garden furniture, carpets, curtains, paintings, sculptures, object d'art, lighting, silver and crystalware, air-conditioning equipment, washing machines and dryers, refrigerators, house ware, electronic consumer goods, TVs, hi-fi and DVD players.

The show will coincide with the staging of two complementary exhibitions by the same organiser, Kitchens and Bathrooms 2000 and Gulf Light 2000 to form a unique event of three shows serving different aspects of the construction and housing industry, he says.

Boutros comments: "The GCC countries are one of the most exciting markets for international suppliers because of the exceptional growth in all sectors. Our aim in launching this show is to serve the continuing development of its housing sector and offer the latest home technologies and all requirements for homes, under one roof."
