
Seef Properties in Bahrain has signed a contract with Olympic Contracting for the construction of a BD3.18 million ($8.43 million) extension to the Seef Mall, which will include parking for 650 cars and the superstructure for a 10-screen cinema complex and several retail outlets.
Work on the 32,000 sq m seven-floor building has been divided into three phases. The cinemas are expected be ready by March next year. Completion of the car-park and the retail units will follow soon after and the entire project will be completed by May next year. Baker Wilkins and Smith and Raglan Squire and Partners have been retained as quantity surveyor and design architect, respectively.
Meanwhile, a new 11-storey office building, called Seef Tower, is also being built within the compound and is expected to be completed in February next year.
