Jotun Paints is among the pioneers in tinting systems with 25 years of experience in the field. The Jotun Multicolor system is second to none with over 3,000 tinting units across the globe, says the Norway-headquartered firm.

The system offers more than 16,000 different shades at the touch of a button by the tinting system, it adds.

The company says its philosophy has been to understand the needs of customers and to meet their requirements in the most innovative way.

Over the past year, Jotun Abu Dhabi has doubled the number of Multicolor centres across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The company had three Multicolor centres until last year - at Ace Hardware, Time International and Shaddan, its distributors in Abu Dhabi. New centres have been opened by Shaddan in Bidaa Zayed, by Raihan Building Materials in Abu Dhabi and by Al Naseer Multicolor in the city of Al Ain.

''In addition, Rajab Trading, which has a Multicolor tinting machine in the Mussafah Industrial Area, will shortly become the first centre in the Middle East to provide tinting services for protective paints through the industrial tinting machine,'' says Hamid Kariem, marketing manager for Jotun Paints Abu Dhabi.

The company intends to open more Multicolor centres in the area over the coming months in order to provide ease of access and convenience to its customers.

Jotun Abu Dhabi also conducts seminars regularly to increase market awareness of its products. It has a painting school aimed at training professionals in the field on the latest technology in paint and its application.

Jotun Paints is also actively promoting customer awareness of the right painting techniques as well as its colour adviser technology.

As part of its marketing strategy to reach every home, Jotun Paints recently participated in a programme on Abu Dhabi TV where its representative explained painting techniques and the features of its colour adviser. The programme gave viewers a brief introduction on both the subjects and indicated how colours can have a significant impact on the ambience - just as much as the furniture, decoration items and overall style.

Applying one or more colours over a different undercoat can create a multi-coloured or textured effect. Using various painting techniques, dramatic, dazzling, crumbly and soft effects can be created to suit one's choice, Jotun says. Jotun's colour adviser technology enables the client to preview on a computer screen how his home will look in any colour or different colour combinations before making a choice on the paint colour.

In addition, Jotun Abu Dhabi displays brochures in furniture and upholstery shops about painting techniques and colours, with a colour bar showing a panel of more than 800 colour chips to choose from to suit one's taste.
