Legrand, a leading international supplier of electrical equipment and systems, is celebrating 25 years of partnership with its exclusive agent Electra Abu Dhabi, a pioneering electrical distributor in the region.

The two companies are now set to offer customers an even better service through a new high-tech customer centre and showroom which was scheduled to open last month.

The French-based Legrand Group is a world leader in the manufacture of low-voltage electrical installations used in a range of sectors including industrial, commercial, health care and residential projects.

A substantial part of its business in Abu Dhabi, through its exclusive agent Electra, has been meeting the diverse and challenging requirements of the oil industry in both offshore and onshore installations.

Other major projects on which Legrand have worked in partnership with Electra have been a number of public housing developments, work with Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (Adwea), the Abu Dhabi Trade Centre, Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Rotana hotel and furnished apartments and other major commercial and residential developments.

Electria was established in 1965. To meet the increasing demand for the products it supplies - especially Legrand products - the company has now created a new headquarters and showroom facility on 10th Street in the Tourist Club Area of Abu Dhabi.

Totalling 1,200 sq m in size, the ground floor of the new premises will be dedicated to a showroom for products sold by Electra in Abu Dhabi. A new state-of-the-art Legrand Customer Centre will take up 50 per cent of the available showroom space.

Mohammed Ahmed-Yehia, regional director, Legrand Group, says: "The new showroom will feature our full range of products to demonstrate their use in residential, outdoor, commercial and industrial settings. Customers will be able to touch and feel the systems and get a comprehensive idea of how they operate and can be used in every kind of building environment.

We already sell Dh5 million ($1.36 million) worth of products to Electra every year. These products are used by the oilfield industry, government departments, private sector establishments like hotels, property developers and individuals seeking the best electrical systems and supplies for their home."

Available in France for the past two years, Smart Home from Legrand has proved very successful, the company says.

Among the world-class products manufactured by Legrand Group are circuit breakers, distribution cabinets and enclosures, wiring accessories, emergency lighting and security systems and cable management products.
