Afico manufactures fibreglass insulation products.

Arabian Fiberglass Insulation Company (Afico) – a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Amiantit Company (51 per cent) and Owens Corning Cooperation (OCC)  of the US (49 per cent) – is currently finalising the scope of works for its latest expansion programme.

The expansion aims to increase the insulation products manufacturer’s existing capacity and upgrade its lines using fully automated machines.
Afico manufactures fibreglass insulation products that are used for thermal and acoustical applications. Its products range covers all residential and commercial buildings and some industrial applications and are used to insulate wall, roof, ceiling, duct and pipes.
Afico was established in 1982 and its head office and production facilities are based in Dammam. It has five offices in Dammam, Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia , Dubai in the UAE and Beirut in Lebanaon with a total staff of more than 150 employees. The company enjoys an annual turnover of more than $20 million per year, according to Aiman Taimah, marketing and sales manager
Afico is a regular participant at the SaudiBuild exhibitions. Taimah comments: “The show is big and very organised. A large percentage of the visitors are people who are planning/building their houses. Thus, our presence has been excellent in terms of market awareness of our products.”
The company has witnessed a 10 per cent growth in business levels this year compared to last year, which Taimah attributes to the “current growth in the construction sector both in Saudi Arabia and all other GCC countries. The market is growing and we expect the trend to continue for several years at least.
Afico is in the process of establishing a completely new corporate identity that aims to reflect the current and future prospective of the company.
