BAHRAIN’S Works Ministry has awarded eight road and sanitary engineering tenders and is inviting bids for a further eight.

It awarded contracts related to infrastructure and construction projects for a number of government ministries and organisations in July, costing BD9.14 million ($24.24 million). The eight tenders, for which the ministry is inviting bids, include consultancy services for roads to serve housing projects in Buhair.

The ministry has assigned a consultancy firm to design roads in Wadyan Village Phase Two, in addition to revamping roads in Blocks 902 and 904 in Riffa, according to ministry assistant under-secretary for technical services Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat.

The projects also include revamping Al Estiqlal Highway from Isa Town Interchange to Al Hekma Interchange, and providing consultancy services for the sanitary line project from Hamad Town to Tubli sewage treatment plant, in addition to a sewage treatment plant project for Al Lozi Housing Project.

The ministry has also awarded eight projects costing BD8.85 million ($23.47 million) which included roads and sanitary engineering projects in different areas of the kingdom.
