EAST Fence Trade and General Contracting is seeking to play a major role in Saudi Arabia’s infrastructural development, taking advantage of the huge construction boom under way in the kingdom.

In line with this, the company has been undertaking studies to establish quarries, block and readymix concrete factories, according to Shaikh Mohamed bin Hamad Al Anzi, owner and chairman of the Saudi-based company.

He added that the group is also negotiating with foreign companies to represent them in the kingdom and tie-up with others seeking to invest in the Gulf, especially in the Saudi market.

As part of its proactive approach, the company has been investing in real estate and focusing on the construction of private housing. It has also been participating in various government projects.

East Fence has been implementing key projects in the Gulf region, including the development of domestic airports, airstrips and infrastructure for military projects.

Al Anzi comments: “The group began its activities 25 years ago and has succeeded in gaining a sound position as a key player, especially in the Eastern Province.

“We focus on general construction projects such as buildings, road asphalting and drainage, as well as real estate development including residential towers and commercial complexes.”

The group comprises three companies engaged in general contracting, trading and real estate development.

Commenting on the group’s performance last year and the impact of the financial crisis, Al Anzi says: “The global financial crisis did not affect us, thanks to the diversity of our activities and the strategy we adopted to deal with the crisis.

“Our performance has been satisfactory and we expect even better results next year, especially since we have received a grade rating in five areas of construction, namely buildings, drainage, asphalting, mechanical works and electrical work.”
Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Dammam, East Fence Trade and General Contracting has offices in major cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Jouf and the Northern Border region.

The group has a staff of around 150, including engineers and technicians with extensive experience in their field.
