HARALD Hartung has been appointed the new managing director of Doka Muscat following the retirement of Geir Jensen, who spent 25 years in the formwork business and the last 12 years as managing director of Doka subsidiaries in the Middle East.
During his tenure with the formwork specialist, Jensen had been the backbone of Doka’s growth in the region, and he successfully established Doka Muscat in 2009 and introduced the company into the Omani market.
“My time spent in the construction business in the Middle East has indeed been very interesting, pleasant and enriching in all facets,” said Jensen. “In retrospect, I would say Oman should have been my first assignment and not the last. I have learned to love this country, its people and its natural beauty. Never I have experienced such an openness and welcoming attitude in any other country. I have met many nice people here and it is truly sad to have to leave them behind.”
