Gaensslen ... overjoyed.

GERMAN bathrooms specialist Hansgrohe has reported record figures for sales and earnings in 2010.

A leading manufacturer of bathroom fittings and showerheads, Hansgrohe’s 2010 sales grew 13.5 per cent to €693 million ($997 million) from €610 million ($878 million) in 2009 and revenue rose 10 per cent to €154 million ($221 million) from €140 million ($201 million) in 2009.

“In spite of ongoing instability in underlying economic conditions, we recorded growth in all the regions in 2010 and set new records both for sales and earnings,” said CEO Siegfried Gaensslen. “At €693 million, total net sales for the last financial year were not only well above the previous year’s level; they also topped the previous all-time high of €668 million recorded in 2008. We’re obviously overjoyed.”

Hansgrohe maintains an active presence in the Middle East and the firm expanded its regional network with the opening of the Alshaya Home Store showroom in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in May this year.

With offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Cyprus and a flagship store network across the region, Hansgrohe continues to work on an ongoing stream of prestigious projects including Masdar City in Abu Dhabi and the Burj Khalifa district in Dubai, Marina Towers in Beirut, Lebanon, and the Royal Clock Tower in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Hansgrohe is set to showcase new collections and innovative solutions at Index, the annual trade exhibition for the interior design and manufacturing industries, which takes place in Dubai, UAE, later this year.
