A NEW partnership in the aluminium business has created a strong operator in Saudi Arabia to take on the challenges of the latest demands posed by the stunning landmark buildings taking shape in the region.
Zamil Architectural Industries of the Zamil Group and Dubai’s Al Ghurair Construction have signed a joint venture to set up Zamil-Al Ghurair Aluminium in Saudi Arabia, based on a 50-50 equity share.
The Dammam-based company will be equipped to meet market demands and respond, at the same time, to challenges posed by key projects launched in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and Bahrain as well. The company will draw on the vast experience of the partner firms to become one of the most competent sources for manufacturing and fitting of aluminium and glazing in the markets.
“Zamil’s diverse product range and rich experience will combine with Al Ghurair’s capabilities in aluminium manufacture, fitting and glazing to create an entity that will take on the challenges of complex projects,” says a spokesman for the newly-established firm.
Al Ghurair will count on the support of its subsidiary Dubai-based Arabian Aluminium, which has played a key role in the construction of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. Standing more than 828 m high and with over 160 storeys, the tower has accomplished a world record for the highest installation of an aluminium and glass façade. The cladding work is the largest project of its kind undertaken by Arabian Aluminium Company, which for over 40 years, has been offering a comprehensive range of products and services in aluminium, steel and stainless steel fabrication and its in-fills for buildings and industries.
