AL RASHED Steel Products has recently shifted operations to a new state-of-the-art factory in the second industrial city of Dammam. The company has also expanded its production range with the introduction of stainless steel wires and stainless steel bright bars with an annual capacity of 6,000 tonnes and cable armouring tape with an annual capacity of 6,000 tonnes.
In addition, the company has boosted its production capacity of the recently-launched ‘low relaxation pre stressed concrete (LRPC) wire strand’ to 60,000 tonnes per year (tpy), effectively doubling its capacity of the product which is used in the construction of bridges, railway sleepers and multi-storey buildings.
The move is in line with its efforts to tap the increasing market potential and keep pace with the demand for steel products used especially in the construction of bridges and rail roads and cable manufacturing.
The new world-class facility, built under a considerable investment, is equipped with the latest world-class technology, says a spokesman for the company.
A member of the Al Rashed Group, Al Rashed Steel was established in 1982 and has successfully met growing market demands by constantly expanding operations, reviewing marketing strategies and establishing sales and production offices in Riyadh and Jeddah.
The new products boost its already expansive portfolio which includes wiremesh, steel reinforcement, wires, steel sheets like pre-painted corrugated, galvanised, hot and cold-rolled sheets, shearing and slitting various grades of plain steel sheets, and LRPC wire strand. The new product lines and expanded LRPC capacity has now raised the company’s total production capacity to more than 192,000 tpy.
“Our constant endeavours to supply products of high quality complying with internationally-recognised standards have earned us a reputation in the local and foreign market,” says the spokesman. “We are regarded as one of the leading manufacturers of galvanised wires, steel bars, welded wire mesh, galvanised wire mesh, barbed wires, PVC-coated wires, galvanised and PVC-coated chain link fences, black annealed wires and bailing wires.”
Al Rashed Steel also provides services for cutting and bending of deformed steel bars.

The company’s own transportation fleet ensures prompt deliveries in order to meet agreed schedules, the spokesman concludes.
